Pakistan on Saturday yet again violated the Ceasefire and heavily shelled forward areas along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian troops however, effectively retaliated to the cross border firing.
Defence Spokesman here said that at about 1130 hours Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing of Small arms and shelling with Mortars and Artillery along LoC in Keri Battal, Sunderbani sector in District Rajouri.
"Indian Army is retaliating befittingly," he said and added that in the intervening night of December 20-21, there was heavy exchange of fire in Akhnoor Sector after Pak violated ceasefire.
Pakistani troops on Thursday also fired unprovoked and violated the Ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control in Poonch district.On December 17, one Army jawan was martyred in cross border firing along LoC in Sunderbani sector.
On December 16, Pakistan troops fired unprovoked along the Line of Control in Kalal area of Rajouri district.
On December 9, Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire twice along the Line of Control in Poonch district.On December 3, two persons including a woman were killed and eight other civilians injured as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch district.
On Nov 29 also Pakistan violated the Ceasefire by firing in Balakote sector of Poonch.
